Investing in Young Dreams

The Spirit of the Game Society believes a big part of just being a kid is participating in organized sport. It's a place where youngsters can learn about teamwork, discover hidden skills and personal strengths, develop bonds that will last a lifetime. Organized sport teaches respect and an appreciation for structure. It builds confidence.

Spirit of the Game Society is structured to deliver 100% of all donations to:

  •     providing a used equipment drop off and pick up area
  •     helping out with league fees, uniforms and first aid kits
  •     helping to pay the tuition and equipment costs for underprivileged kids.

A message from Patrick Carpentier

To My friends at Spirit of the Game,

In life, sometimes things can be very difficult, but one needs to remember that during these periods, you need to keep working hard, harder if anything in order to achieve your goal, you also need to believe, to keep the faith and enjoy the present moment, cause that moment will never come back, it is gone forever. The process to achieve your goal should be enjoyed, after all this process is what you should focus on, not the results. If you believe, work hard and focus on the process of learning, the results will come by themselves.

Have fun & enjoy the game! - Patrick Carpentier

(After winning the 1996 Player’s Toyota Atlantic Championship, Carpentier won a ride with Bettenhausen/Alumax team in CART, defeating several veteran racers from across the US and Europe, in a test held at Sebring. He debuted in CART in 1997 with Bettenhausen/Alumax team. In that first season, he was on pole at Nazareth, with a best finish was second at the inaugural race at Gateway, the Motorola 300. He would also be crowned “Rookie of the Year”).

No child should get left behind when it comes to experiencing the benefits of recreation because of dollars and cents.  We applaud “Spirit of the Game” for making dreams come true for aspiring young athletes.

SOTG supports many local children and families who want to play sports but are not able to pay. The board of directors are great volunteers in our community.
